The ultramarathon boom in Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina was enriched in 2025 with a new international system of competitions in the most popular ultra disciplines. The organizers of the top 5 races in this area have united under a common association and common rules.
In recent years, the races in Kranj, Koper, Sarajevo, Zagreb and Slavonski Brod have been very well attended for ultra conditions and also of exceptional quality. Every year, new national records are set at these races, and at the international level, these have often been the best and most massive competitions of this type in the world. The goals of the league are multifaceted: expanding and standardizing ultra running, raising the quality of the organization and the community of ultramarathoners from the region.
The second Balkan Express race is our popular SLO24 in Koper, which will take place on April 5th. The rich program includes as many as 4 disciplines covered by the cup: 6h, 12h, 24h and, for the first time, 100 km, which this time will count as the Slovenian National Championship.
This is a good opportunity to achieve the standards and experience to compete at the World Championships in Albi.
